What the family holds, and what we carry
The order is usually the same. A medical certificate of death comes first, then the death certificate registered at the Public Service Hall, and only after that the cemetery office's permission for the plot and for setting a stone on it. Requirements vary between cemeteries.
From the family we need the deceased person's ID, an identity document of a relative and a written authorisation. After that the trips are ours: applications, permits, agreeing the measurements of the plot, and handing the complete file back once the stone is standing.

Answers to frequent questions
Which documents are needed to set a gravestone?
In most cases the death certificate, an identity document of the person applying, and the cemetery office's written permission for that plot. Some cemeteries also ask for the measurements of the stone, so we check the list before anything is ordered.
Can you deal with the offices instead of us?
Yes. With a written authorisation from one relative we can register the death, request the permit and collect the certificates. The family signs once at the start and receives the originals at the end; nothing stays in our hands.
What if the burial has not happened yet?
Then the documents move at the same pace as the funeral arrangements. A basic package is 850 GEL, a full one priced for the particular case; a car inside the city begins at 150 GEL, and travel beyond it is counted from 2.5 GEL a kilometre. Cremation terms are agreed separately.
